Single Certificate for China Marriage

What certificate is required for US citizen to marry a Chinese national in China? Can I get this at the US Embassy in Hong Kong or Guangzhou? I was married one time in 1972 and my wife died. I was married at a military base in North Carolina and she died in Texas. I have a copy of the marriage license and the death certificate.

If you get married in mainland China, you need to provide passport, visa or residence permit, and a single status certificate from your country. In your case, it should be your old marriage license and the death certificate. You should get the certificate from the China embassy in your country. If you cannot do that in person, you can ask your friends or families or find an agency to help you get that authenticated from the China embassy.
