About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong via train to Shenzhen

I have a Canadian passport. Can I take the train from HK through Lo Wu into China for a 24 hour trip without getting a China visa? Thanks!

If you will return to Hong Kong after the trip, you must get a China visa.

Shenzhen has a visa on arrival and it only allows you to stay in Shenzhen. it costs the same as the visa Canadian passport holders can apply for while in Canada. Visa application in Canada gets multi entry chinese valid until 10 years or passport expiration, whichever comes first.
