About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

SYD-SHANGHAI-TAIPEI-SYD

Hi I hold an Australian passport and will be travelling SYDNEY > SHANGHAI > TAIWAN > SYDNEY.
I will be in Shanghai for 5 nights (under 144 hours), so just confirming I will not need a visa?

You won't need a visa, as long as your Sydney-Shanghai flight does not stop in Taiwan or mainland China, and your Shanghai-Taiwan flight does not stop in mainland China..
