About:Simatai Great Wall

Physical effort required

Hi, thanks for helping us to decide with this Q&A session.
I'm planning to spend a night in Gubei Water Town and visit the Great Wall by night.
The following morning I was thinking to take the cable car and walk the Wall from Tower 8 and tower 2, and then walk down by the hiking path.
1. Is this way downhill or uphill?
2. Do you think that it would be too strenuous?
3. Should I stop at Tower 6 with a less demandi way back to the cable car?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Kindest Regards
Massimo Cilloni

1. Yes, it is uphill from Tower 8 to Tower 2 and it will become more and more steep. Pay more attention to the safety.
2. Yes, it would be very strenuous to climb up from Tower 8 to Tower 2 and then walk down by the hiking path.
3. Yes, you should because your previous plan is too tiring. Or you can walk from Tower 8 to Tower 10 and then back to Tower 5 for cable car, which is easier to get.
Nice trip!
