About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will this itinerary qualify for transit visa

My flight itinerary is Los Angeles > with a technical stop in Jinan> Chengdu (2 hr 10 min stop with plane change) > Beijing> on to Ulaanbaatar. Returning Ulaanbaatar > Beijing > Chengdu Shaungliue (2 hr 40 min stop with plane change)> Hangzhou (1 hr 55 minute stop) > Los Angles.

My main goal is to visit Mongolia, but I am traveling through CHina; so do I need a visa for this flight? I'm guessing my itinerary does not qualify for the 72 or 144 hour free Transit, but can you confirm? I am a US citizen with passport with 6 months plus of validity left on it. Thank you!

It obviously doesn’t qualify for 72/144 hours transit without visa, but it would qualify for 24 hours twov.
