X1 chinese visa application in Thailand on tourist visa

Hello, I am currently travelling through Thailand and I've been invited to study in China, I would like to know if I'm able to apply for a chinese X1 for 1 year multiple entry in bangkok? I'm a south African and I have still 1 and a half months left on my visa for Thailand.

It's possible for you to apply for X1 type from the CVASC in Bangkok. After you get it, you can apply for a Chinese residence permit after entering China. The residence permit has multiple entries and can be valid for one year or more.
