Are fresh fruits allowed in hand bags when transit in Chinese airport.

I am flying on China Air from one country to another, with a few hours transit in Beijing airport (no entrance to China). Can I bring some fresh fruits in my hand bags? given the fact that both original and destination counties allow it!
