About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Applying for 72 hour transit visa

We will be in Beijing for 15 hours before our onward flight to Mongolia. How does one apply for the 72 hour twov and does it need to be done before we board our China Air flight from Dulles to Beijing or when we arrive?

Just let airline know when you check in that you are using the Transit with out visa. Show copy of email confirmation w/ ticket number as proof. Visit the 24/144 hour twov desk after landing to have it processed. Since your stop is under 24 hours you will only be given the 24 hour direct transit, which 99% of the time in Beijing allows you to leave the airport.
