About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Europe Country A - Beijing - Asia Country B with 9hr stop in Cheng Du

Hello team,

We are flying from Europe to Katmandu with a 48hr stopover in Beijing.

To my understanding, we can benefit from the free entry in Beijing but our flights from Beijing to Kathmandu says there is a 9hr stopover in ChengDu airport (not our choice, arriving at midnight) so I wanted to check if we would be allowed to go sleep in a hotel in ChengDu for that time (is it still transit?) or if we would need to spend the night in the airport?

You need a visa or different flights. Two stops in China limits you to 24 hours transit without visa.
