Laptop Batteries

I have 6 laptop batteries I need to take back to Australia from Baiyun (Guangzhou). Any restriction on carry - on luggage if packed desperately?

That was "packed separately".

The batteries are all 45Wh and can either be packed in with the laptops in checked luggage (how they arrived), but I can't confirm anywhere if they can be taken back the same way from Baiyun or if we need to seperate them out and pack them in carry-on?

The batteries cannot be checked in luggage and you can pack them with the laptops and take them with you. Or separate the batteries and laptops and put the laptops in checked luggage.
