Spouse Visa to a Z visa

I've been hired in Guangzhou as a math teacher. However, I currently live in China on a spouse visa. How do I cancel my spouse type and apply for Z? Can I go through Hong Kong? How long is the process?
I have a Kazakhstan passport, and MA of Education

You can try to convert the spouse type into work Z type from the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. You can contact them to inquire about the details.

You need first to obtain a work permit. To do it your company that hired you should apply online. After getting the work permit, you can get Z.
