144hr transit visa when flying uk to beijing via dubai

Question

I am a British Citizen flying from the UK to Beijing with a transit via Dubai.  I will be staying in Beijing for 2 nights and then leaving on a cruise via the Tianjin Port, do I qualify for the 144hr transit visa.

My first port of call with the cruise from Tianjin is Okinawa so outside China. I was concerned that because we were not flying direct from London to Beijing we could not use the 144hr free transit.
