Hello,

We have a 24hrs layover in Shanghai and we are US citizens. Do we need a visa to go out to the airport and do site seeing of the city and even book for an overnight hotel stay because we will be arriving in the late evenings.

Will be waiting for your answer,

thanks!

In Shanghai, leaving the airport is no longer possible if your layover is less than 24 hours regardless of nationality. Some said that bringing a hotel reservation will help. You can have a try if you are eligible for the 24h twov in Shanghai.
