Travel with kids to Inner Mongolia - August - which city is best

I was thinking Manzhouli, convergence of 3 countries/cultures. but I'd love to go for grasslands, living in yurts, and open air. Any suggestions? thanks!

I guess it’s available and it’s near the grasslands. It is advised to hire a car to visit the grasslands.
