About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Does Taiwan-born US citizen on US passport with separate itineraries qualify?

I was born in Taiwan but will travel on a US passport. I will be travelling USA-PVG and TPE-USA with a flight from PVG to TPE/TSA booked on a separate airline. Do I qualify for 72-hour free transit?
