About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hour transit visa. I'm a little confused on the requirements.

Does the visa allow to go outside the transit area? I want to book a hotel at Shanghai Pudong Airport, Dazhong Hotel, located between Terminal 1 and 2 but before I do so I want to make sure I'll be able to get there.

I'm an Australian citizen and my itinerary is Montreal - Shanghai - Denpasar.

Should be no problem to exit airport and to stay at the hotel

Leaving the airport is up to the discretion of the immigration officer. There are absolutely no guarantees if you're not holding a transit G.
