Question

My first stop is Beijing. Hotel for 3 days I already paid in full. They did not ask for my passport or copy. After 3 days i have reserved and paid fully hi speed train to Shanghai. They ask for copy of my passport.After they received it they send some digit number of my passport and copy of it and tracking number . Do I have  to send a copy of passport to hotel? According to my experience, you need to send your passport number to the staff if you decide to book the hotel, and the original copy of your passport is required when you check in the hotel. However, I think maybe you can phone and ask the hotel staff whether you need to send your passport copy to them or not.
