Maximum length of time for L?

What is the length of that visa and what is the starting day of that entry permit? Airplane ticket date?

For Canadians, you can ask for visa that is valid for 10 years or length remaining on your passport, whichever is less. Its valid as of the day its approved so starts before you will even get the passport back in the mail.
