About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Hi my wife and I are visiting Shanghai on a cruise.

We will be there 36 hours at the most and will be going ashore on an excursion. Do we need Visa.

The answer to this question is a bit like which came first the chicken or egg

If you have the tickets go to another country after staying in SH, you will qualify the 144 hours free visa. However, if you don’t plan to another country, you do need a visa.
