About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai 72 hour transit without visa

Hi my family and I are traveling from the US to Japan then Japan to Shanghai then Shanghai back to the US. I have separate plane tickets for each segment. We will be in Shanghai for 2 days. Do we qualify for the free transit? Thanks

As long you have US passports, Shanghai is only stop in China and you don't fly back through Japan on the way home, then you are eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
