Query on whether dependent foreign nationals can work in China

I am going to visit China for long term official purpose being sent by my employer. My spouse will also join me as a dependent over there after couple of months. Kindly inform if my spouse can also work as a teacher or get into any education there in China under dependent visa ? if not, is she required to take a work permit? what would be the process of such? Please advise.

Your spouse cannot work in mainland China legally if she doesn't have work Z type. But it's possible to change her current visa into work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. You are advised to contact the local PSB to inquire the details.
