Hello, 144 hour visa free transit
I am flying from the U.K to Hong Kong, then from Hong Kong to Shanghai for 2 days before leaving for Taiwan. I believe this qualifies for the 144 hour transit exemption. However I have a couple questions.
Firstly, My flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai and then Shanghai to Taiwan two days later is with two different airlines as I booked my tickets separately (more cost effective). Will this matter? Will I still need to inform my airline from Hong Kong to Shanghai (China Eastern) of my desire for a 144 hour free transit even though my airline leaving Shanghai (Juneyao) is different?
Secondly, upon booking my flight out of Shanghai I wasn't sent an e-ticket but an itinerary and an e-receipt showing my flight class (economy), price I paid, full name, flight date and flight number. Usually tickets aren't issued until at least 24 hours in advance of departure, so would what I have received from my booking suffice to prove that I am in fact leaving Shanghai in 2 days as I wouldn't get an e-ticket until at least the day before I'm scheduled to leave Shanghai.
Thank you.
