lax - pek - bom without visa bom - pek (4 days) - lax for 144 transit permit

My wife & I are US citizens. Flying LAX - PEK - BOM without visa in CHINA in November.While returning In December; BOM - PEK (4 days) - LAX leg; needs 144 hour free transit permit.Are we eligible for the FREE 144 hour free transit permit at Beijing ?Thank you !

LAX - PEK - BOM and then BOM - PEK (4 days) - LAX is allowed. You are eligible for one 144 hour free transit on the way to BOM. O the way back to LAX you get a second 144 hour transit without visa in PEK
