Arriving in Beijing on UA international flight. Departing on AC domestic flight. Do I need to collect baggage before customs and is there assistance in handling excess baggage if so?

Yes, you need collect your baggage and if necessary you can apply the assistance service which is at No. 39 baggage carousel in International Baggage Claim Hall or 2nd Floor of Parking Building RMB 10per trolley (over-sized baggage is limited to 3 pieces).
