hi all.can i purchase my tickets on the same day i want to travel.

am arriving at Hong Kong international airport and going to Guangzhou..thanks!

Yes, you can do it at the ticket counter in Hung Hom Station. If there is no ticket, you can go to Shenzhen first by taking the MTR there and then go Guangzhou by another ride or bus
