About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible 72 hour free/144 hour free entry?

I will be travelling from Macau --> Shanghai (2 nights) --> Macau.

I read that travel from A --> B --> C, A and C should be different countries or regions. Thank you!

No that is not a transit but a trip to China. If you did Macau > Shanghai > Hong Kong > Macau that would be ok. since they are considered to be different countries.
