Can I Visit Shenzhen by bus or train?

My route will be US---> Macau---> Hong Kong--->US

Sure you can apply for a 5 day VOA at the Shenzhen border but as this visa is as expensive as a 10 years tourist L for US citizens, I would go for the 10 years tourist visa.
