Chinese Tourist visa for a friend

Hi,
I am a student in china and a friend of mine would like to visit china on tourist L. One of the visa requirements for L type is an invitation letter. Is it possible for me to provide an invitation letter for him or does he has to be related to me? if i were to provide the invitation letter, what should it contain?

Hi, you can provide an invitation letter for him. Don't worry. You can find invitation sample at this website, and then download it and fill it out for your use.
