About:China Private Visit Visa

Is it worth even bothering to apply for an S1 for myself?

Hi, my wife is on a Q2 to visit her father who has sadly passed away since she arrived she doesn't have a residence permit as the visa doesn't require it she inherited the house so has a stamped letter to say she lives there and the house belongs to her is it worth applying for an S1 for myself to join here if she doesn't have the residence permit?
Thanks for any reply

I should add that our intention of me joining her is to help sort his belongings out and to sell the property so i was going to apply under the private matters part or the form
Thanks again

Hi, Richard, you cannot apply for a S1 type based on your wife's Q2 type. But if you visit to mainland China for a short time, you could apply for a tourist L type for that.
