About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Connecting Flights with different (single) tickets

Hi,
We want to fly London to Shanghai, stay 24-48 hours, then to Hong Kong, stay 48 hours, and then to Vietnam. We would like to do the same for our journey back to London. The flight from London to Shanghai is single ticket, and the Shanghai to London is another seperate ticket. Is this ok?
