when should apply for the visa ?

i have got a scholarship and my university in china will start in September . when should i apply for the entry permit and if i got it early can i go to china one month earlier  from the university starting date ?

Usually, you are advised to make the application one month prior to your trip. So you can do that in August, and you can go to China one month earlier.
