Hi Trip from sydney to rusia

I'm traveling from Sydney to St Petersburg (Rusia). I have a first 14 hr stop over in Guangzhou and a 4 hour stop in Urumqi. I am currently living in Sydey with a a Working Holiday entry permit and I hold an Argentinian and an Italian passport. Do I need a visa to go through? Or I can apply to the 24 hs TWOV? I land in Guangzhou at 6.30 pm on June 24th and leave Urumqui at 5.50 pm on June 25th.
