About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Bangkok - Chengdu (transfer in Shantou) - Hong Kong, is this a problem?

Can I fly from Bangkok BKK to Chengdu CTU via Shantou SWA (2 hour transfer) then onwards to Hong Kong the next day?

I hold a UK passport and will be in Chengdu only for 1 night.

It seems like 72 hour free transit is ok for Chengdu but I'm transferring via another Chinese city (Shantou SWA) is this a problem?

You won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Chengdu because the 72 hour policy only allows the traveler to transit in one Chinese city. But if your total layover time in Chengdu and Shantou is within 24 hours, you can get 24 hr direct transit. No visa is needed, either.

Ok, I will be in China for less than 24 hours so I think that should be ok? Below is my flight details, can you please confirm that No Visa is needed for this route?

Bangkok BKK > Shantou SWA > Chengdu CTU

Depart Bangkok: 11:30am
Arrive Shantou: 3:20pm

CONNECTING (2:15 transfer in Shantou)

Depart Shantou: 5:35pm
Arrive Chengdu: 8:20pm

NEXT DAY

Chengdu CTU > Hong Kong HKG

Depart Chengdu: 1:55pm
Arrive Hong Kong: 4:55pm

Let me know if this qualifies for no visa? Thank you so much for your help!!
