About:China Private Visit Visa

Can my wife work with the S1 permit ?

Hi,
I am Chukwumah from Nigeria .I have B.SC in pharmacology and want to go to China to study medicine and surgery. I have a wife and two kids. While I'm studying in China I would want my wife only to come and join me .
Please can she work with the S1 that will be given to her? If no what can she do to be working in China when comes to meet me ?

Your wife cannot work in mainland China legally under an S1 type. If she has all right documents, she can try to convert the S1 type into a work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. If it can succeed, she can work and live in China then. Just give it a try.

She should prepare her passport and its copy, the application form, a passport-style photo, Chinese residence permit, work permit from the employer and the physical examination record as well as other requirements. You can call the local PSB to ask more detailed information. They will be more professional than me.
