What is the best way to get from Beijing West Railway to Capital Airport?

Subway to Dongzhimen then to Capital International Express?
Bus

My wife is arriving late (maybe 21:00 - is a taxi the best choice).

Well, from West Railway Station to Dongzhimen, you need to transfer to subway lines several times. Thus for your convenience, just take a taxi to PEK directly.
