With every other requirements met, PLEASE what is the minimum number of years a person can stay

With every other requirements met, PLEASE what is the minimum number of years a person can stay before applying for permanent residency. Am present doimg my masters and it's a two year programme

As you will take a two year programme in China, you can apply for a X visa, and then apply for a two-year residence permit after your entry.
