Hi, you need to first find a job in mainland China, and then your employer would apply for a work permit for you. After get the work permit, you are supposed to first prepare those documents including your passport and copy of its data page, a completed application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, and a work permit from your employer as well as others. Next, submit the application to the China embassy to apply for a work Z type.

you dont need to apply for a work visa, you can come to china on a visitors visa first, then you can find a job when you get here, your new employer can help you get your work visa, thats what i did, I've been here for 8 years now, and if you plan on working in china you will need at least a Bachelors degree, before you come to china get your Bachelors degree certified, and you will also need to go to the chinese embassy in america and show them your certified Bachelors degree so you can get you work visa in china, i hope this was helpful.

I want to know about work Z in china. I do not have any invitation letter from china so how can i apply for work Z or work permit?
My brother is in china right now but he also do not know about work Z in china. kindly guide me.
