2 month internship in Shanghai, US citizen who is undergraduate student

I was invited to work at a small company in the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone from June 2018 to August 2018. I was wondering what sort of relevant documents I needed. I already have their business license, and am in the process of acquiring their invitation letter.

Patrick, if it is a paid internship, I’m afraid you need to apply for a work Z type for that, and you should prepare those documents including your passport and copy of its data page, a completed application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, and a work permit from your employer. If the company cannot provide the work permit for you, maybe you can try to apply for a business M type for that. The requirements are: your passport and copy of its data page, a completed application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, and invitation letter from the company.
