Proof of no criminal record abroad recognized by Chinese embassies or consulate offices

Can you help please? I have received my ACRO (UK proof of no criminal record). What is the procedure for getting the ACRO recognised by the Chinese Embassy in London?
I live in China and am married to a Chinese citizen but because of my work I still have only a visit visa but now I am in a position to apply for a permanent residential visa.
thanks you
John

To get the ACRO recognized by the Chinese Embassy in London, you should first get it notarized by the local notary public and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office or relevant office of the certification authority; and then go to the embassy of China to get that attested; the required documents include your passport and its copy, the application form for attestation, and your no criminal record as well as others.

I live in Xian now. To get it recognized by the Chinese Embassy, first you need to translate (by a sworn translator) your ACRO to mandarin then get it notarized (they have different rules for this, depends on which country the embassy is located. I did my Police Record in Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and no need to be notarized. But, I have another case, since I finished my master degree in Russia, my diploma got legalized by Chinese Embassy in Moscow, and it is necessary to be notarized. So please check the official site of the Chinese Embassy in London to make sure about notarization). Second, the translation should be legalized by your government relevant office (in Indonesia, it will be the ministry of Law, then the ministry of Foreign affairs, it is the same also in when I did in Russia. After that, you can take your original ACRO and the translation to be recognized by the Chinese Embassy in London. Hope this information might help.
