9 hour layover

Question

I have a round trip purchased from Vancouver to Hong Kong, this includes layovers in Beijing. On the way back to Canada we plan to leave the airport in Beijing and going into the city for a few hours. What do we need to do to make this process as fast as possible?

Well, there's not much that you can do to make it faster. It depends on whether your flight is on time, the length of the queues at immigration, and ultimately whether the immigration officer is minded to grant you entry to China for such a short time. You can't influence any of those.
