Mutianyu is preserved and repaired by mordern people while the Simatai West to Jinshanling part is less preserved, so the scenery at the Mutianyu is more grand while the scenery at the Simatai to Jinshanling Part is desolate.

Simatai and Jinshanling are more challenging to climb while Mutainyu is relatively easy to visit with gentle slope and roundway cable car equiped. What's more, Simaitai West to Jinshanling is futher than the Mutianyu part.
