About:Tax Refund

Is it important, that the product is brandnew and unused?

I am thinking about buying a smartphone in China. I leave in 2 months, but I want to use the phone in this time. Is it still possible to get a tax refund? If not, what does it need to show them that the phone is unused? Should it be in the original packaging? Or is it enough to clean the phone and show them that it is almost new?

I’m afraid you can’t get tax refund if you use the phone in you stay in China because the good must be unused and brandnew according to the regulations.

Thanks Stoddard. Do you know, how they check if it was used? Is it enough to put the phone inside the original packaging?
