tranfers to shanghai

i want to go to Shanghai for a few days but avoid the visa cost...if i fly from UK to Hongkong to shanghai, stay in Shanghai for 72 hours and then fly back direct to UK is that possible with the transit G?

A transit visa limits you to 24h in China.But you´re eligible for the 144h twov policy if you fly Hong Kong - Shanghai - UK.TWOV is not a transit G type, it´s totally different.
