About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Japan Trip with short Shanghai stays in between (from UK)

I have 2 friends flying from London to Shanghai, staying three nights in Shanghai, then flying to Tokyo for 5 days, then returning to Shanghai for three more nights. I just wanted to double check can use the 44 hr exemption in Shanghai twice?

When they have the "correct" passpot, it´s no problem to use the 144h twov twice.
