Question

I am going to buy Soft Sleeper from Xian to Urumqi. Train depart at 20:28. How many hours before should I go to Xian Railway Station to pass the luguage check and go to waiting room ?

If you have the paper tickets in hand, 45min should be fine. The boarding should start around 30min in advance. If you need to collect the paper tickets out from the ticket counter first, maybe around 1 to 1.5 hours would be better in case you meet a long queue.
