Hi chinese visa for uk citizen

We are travelling to China at the beginning of July, how long will the visa be valid for as I don't want to leave it til the last minute and would ideally like to apply in the next week or 2. Also,I wish to do the application directly with the Chinese Embassy in London, do you know if you have to make and appointment?

Regards
Mrs K Lowndes

You don't need to make and appointment for Chinese visa application, and you can do it at the CVASC in there. Usually, the duration of stay is 30 days. Sometimes, you may be given 60 days or 90 days. The consular officers will give you proper duration of stay based on your travel itinerary.
