About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Next Country Visa Proof

If my next stop after China offers a voa, is that sufficient for Chinese authorities of do I need to have the next stop entry permit already in advance when I arrive in China? For example, you can get a voa in Thailand and the Philippines so normally I wouldn’t bother to get one in advance. Will this still enable me to qualify for the transit g in China or will I need to get entry permit for Thailand or the Philippines in advance?

Hi, if you want to apply for a visa-free transit in mainland China, you don't have to provide a valid visa for the third country. Don't worry.

Ok thanks Solomon I hope you are correct. The Conditions for Application shown on this website says something different however so one of you needs to stand corrected :-)

"1.The confirmed seat onward ticket and valid visa to a third country or region (if required) are needed for entry".

Presumably this is a condition that the Chinese authorities choose to ignore?

If required

You forgot to read this 2 words.
If you don´t need a visa for the 3rd country, then everything is fine with the chinese immigration.
