I'm dating a Chinese lady on a dating site. Finally I want to go to China so that we get married, how do I start the process and which class of visa do I need?

You can apply for a Chinese tourist L type for that. To get married in China, you need to provide passport, L type visa, and a single status certificate authenticated from your country. Then you can register your marriage in China's Civil Affairs Bureau or your country's embassy in PRC.
