About:Hong Kong - Zhongshan Ferry

For a 18:50 flight out of HKIA, which Zhongshan ferry should I take?

I am in Zhongshan on Dec 2 and will be flying from HK to Taipei. If I take the 15:00 Zhongshan ferry to Sky Pier HKIA, do I have enough time to catch my 18:50 flight to Taipei? Should I take the earlier ferry instead?
How early do I have to be at the Zhongshan port? Do they check my luggage before I board the ferry?
Do I need to buy the ticket in advance, or can I buy it on the travel day?

May I know which airlines you will fly with? Since it's related to the eligibility of taking ferry and also the ferry time (some airlines provide luggage check through service which shorten the time).
It's advised to book in advance on cksp.com.hk.
