About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

I am planning to Beijing from Uk and then to Hong Kong.

Can I apply the 144h visa free? Do I need to do the same way back to Uk? Or get the direct flight back to Uk from Hong Kong?

Yes, you can. And you can choose a direct flight to UK for the back trip.
